I wandered the Art Fair Saturday admiring beautiful works from artists old and new, famous and never to be famous and was talked at for a while by a representative of The Singapore Freeport who wants to house my nonexistent future art collection. Well, it could be made of styrofoam but this video tour of their facilities watches like the opening credits of a James Bond Film.

Here’s a black & white music video by Spoek Mathambo, directed and shot by Pieter Hugo and Michael Cleary. I can’t exactly say I like this music video, I just can’t seem to get some of the images out of my head and there’s high production value, which is very cool.

It’s all about the peripherals when you check out a live show. It’s not just the sound of the music that makes the show, it’s all those little adapters too – all the funny shoes, taking a sip of water at an opportune moment, unplanned jokes – you don’t put that on the studio album.

Folk Rock band The Loom played Austin, Texas’ South by Southwest Festival this past March and left for us this lovely video. My favorite part is around the 1:50 mark Sarah Renfro sings a solo, then around 4:50 there’s an unwitting “One Note Samba” solo over folk music (party foul!). Overall, goodtimes and I can’t help but remember that Fruit of The Loom song “Blue.”

Coraline is a Tim Burton film and you should watch it. Show it to your kids too, mwa ha ha ha ha!

Last weekend was spent at Zhuhai, China at a dragonboat festival that our team didn’t do too well at – but we had lots of fun! My favorite part of the weekend was the Lion Dance before the big introductions.

The video game sensation of the 90s is back in episodic shorts on youtube. Mortal Kombat Legacy reveals the stories of the individual characters who fight each other for reign over parallel universes, including earth and other kingdoms. I ♥ Iceland, and I haven’t even been there yet. It’s no secret. Ever since a friend of mine introduced me to Icelandic music a few years ago I’ve been researching the place. I just got a little more in depth by picking up The Rough Guide to Iceland and trying to figure out how to say complicated words like Hallgrímskirkja and Eyjafjallajökull with the help of Sigur Rós’ pronunciation guide and a ukelele song by Elíza Geirsdóttir Newman. Then what’s not to love about this fashion/music video produced by The Icelandic Fashion Council and Saga Film for Inspired by Iceland. Enjoy:
